The Master's program in Croatian language and literature is managed by the Institute of Slavic and Baltic Philology. We are waiting for you if you already know the Croatian language at an intermediate level and are interested in Croatia and Croatian culture. During the training1 you will have the opportunity to further develop your existing language skills. In addition1 in the framework of the literary history classes1 you can get to know the eras of Croatian literature1 its outstanding authors and masterpieces1 and in the linguistics classes you can delve more deeply into the explanation of certain linguistic phenomena. The aim of the program is to prepare students to become well-trained specialists in Croatian philology. Students acquire comprehensive knowledge of Croatian literature from its early period to the modern age in a European context1 as well as extensive knowledge of Croatian grammar and the history of Croatian. Moreover1 they are acquainted with the latest linguistic theories1 sociolinguistics1 textology1 lexicology1 stylistics and phraseology. Developing both oral and written proficiency in Croatian is an important component of our program. The program ends with a thesis on a chosen subfield of Croatian philology.
