The Scandinavian Studies master's program is managed by the Institute of German Studies. During their studies1 students of the major can acquire a wide range of education1 various competencies and knowledge. Above all1 the training provides professional education in general humanities1 philology and Scandinavian studies1 a high level of language skills1 as well as special knowledge of Scandinavian languages and culture

The Scandinavian studies is an academic field of study that incorporates both the languages and literatures as well as cultural studies of Denmark1 Norway and Sweden. The programme provides interdisciplinary courses ranging from topics in the cultural history of Scandinavia to recent linguistic and literary theories1 from Old Norse literature to Interscandinavian communication. We intend to prepare students for careers in which an advanced knowledge of culture and languages of Scandinavia are necessary.
