The purpose of the training is to train cartographic specialists who have a suitable cartographic approach and a high level of theoretical and practical expertise1 and are able to perform and coordinate cartographic and geoinformatics tasks. They have the knowledge and skills necessary to solve the traditional and IT-based tasks of cartography1 and they are prepared to continue their studies in doctoral training.

This program provides students with a broad scale of knowledge in Cartography and Geoinformatics in combination with geography1 other earth sciences1 information technology1 database management1 web-based mapping services1 etc. Students acquire the theory as well as the methodologies in the development and implementation of the latest visualization technics.
