Program Overview

The purpose of the course is to train researchers1 educators and professionals dealing with self-government1 mass communication1 social policy1 law and politics who understand the ethnic1 national and minority problems of the Central and Eastern European region. There is already a demand for this type of specialist even today1 and this demand will increase in the future1 as the region's historically inherited ethnic and minority conflicts and the new renaissance of small states make the task of managing and reducing ethnic tensions an actuality today. The minority municipalities1 press1 and civil organizations operating in Hungary require more and more professionals equipped with knowledge of minority politics1 and in the majority society there are also efforts to create new institutions that deal with minority problems. The principle of multiculturalism1 protecting the interests of minorities and ending discrimination against minorities is a task that is absolutely important for the creation of social stability in Hungary.
