The study of Political Science and Public Administration has always been regarded as highly important in Andhra University since its inception seventy two years ago. For many years History, Economics and Politics functioned together as a single unit. In 1964 a separate Department of Politics Public Administration came into being with Dr. R.V.R.Chandrasekhara Rao as the Head of the Department.

Candidates seeking admission into the course should have a obtained 3 years Bachelors Degree, Candidates who are joining Masters courses in Andhra University under FOREIGN QUOTA have to enclose two sets of photocopies of following documents:12 years of study at schooling level, Diploma certificate, Bachelors Degree Certificate with transcripts, Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate, Valid Passport of the student, Scholarship sanctioned letter, Demand Draft for US$50 or equivalent INR
