It is a matter of great pride that the department was started y such an eminent personality who obtained his Doctorate in Statistics under the guidance of Prof. Harald Cramer, an eminent statistician of the World. The department, since inception, has been working in tune with the mission of the University to promote teaching, research and extension.

Candidates seeking admission into the course should have a obtained 3 years Bachelors Degree, Candidates who are joining Masters courses in Andhra University under FOREIGN QUOTA have to enclose two sets of photocopies of following documents:12 years of study at schooling level, Diploma certificate, Bachelors Degree Certificate with transcripts, Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate, Valid Passport of the student, Scholarship sanctioned letter, Demand Draft for US$50 or equivalent INR
