Program Overview

The program emphasizes on the interaction of land and water systems along with changing climate conditions in agricultural production and imparts knowledge and skills necessary for the proper development and management of land and water resources for agriculture. Students of Agricultural and Civil Engineering are trained with the fundamentals of surface and subsurface hydrology in general with a focus on sustainable land and water resources planning and management, including conjunctive use of surface and groundwater, management of waterlogging and salinisation in canal commands, integrated water resources management as well as climatic and socio-economic impacts on water resources. In-depth knowledge of modern tools and techniques such as Simulation and Optimization Modeling, Remote Sensing (RS), Geographic Information System (GIS) and Emerging Soft-Computing Techniques, together with their application to land and water resources (both quantity and quality) management is provided
