Program Overview

In 1980, the centre started its own M. Tech. program in Industrial Tribology and Maintenance Engineering . Initially, this program was only for sponsored (Full Time or Part Time) candidates from industry, including Defence, i.e. Army, Air Force and Navy, and later, the Institute Fellowships were provided for fresh graduates through GATE. A large number of defence personnel were deputed for this programme. In July 1991, it became an interdisciplinary program.

B.Tech. / M.Sc. or equivalent with a CGPA 6.00 on a 10 point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General Category with (a) GATE score of 300 or qualifying score (b) GATE score of 200 or qualifying score whichever is higher for SC / ST / PD category. B.Tech. from IITs with CGPA of 8.00 without GATE are also eligible for admission. AMIE / Grad.; Copies of the qualification documents; Copy of the passport and visa; Original Medical Fitness Certificate; Original HIV Report ; Three passport size photographs; Copy of the offer letter issued by the Institute; Student visa for a period of five years.
