The Department of English, one of the oldest in the University, was carved out of the Department of Modern European Languages, offered by the University in 1945. What began as the course in general English has grown into a post-graduate course, offering ten papers in two years of study with five electives in emerging areas. Many have contributed to its growth as a research Department.
Candidates seeking admission into the course should have a obtained 3 years Bachelors Degree, Candidates who are joining Masters courses in Andhra University under FOREIGN QUOTA have to enclose two sets of photocopies of following documents:12 years of study at schooling level, Diploma certificate, Bachelors Degree Certificate with transcripts, Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate, Valid Passport of the student, Scholarship sanctioned letter, Demand Draft for US$50 or equivalent INR
