The Department of Biochemistry, Andhra University was established in year 1971. The Department offers a two year M.Sc course, M.Phil. and Ph.D. full time and part time in Biochemistry. Several research papers have been published by teachers and scholars of the Department in national and international scientific journals. Some of our former students have occupied very high positions in India and abroad in academic and administrative fields. Several research projects have been undertaken by the teaching faculty.

Candidates seeking admission into the course should have a obtained 3 years Bachelors Degree, Candidates who are joining Masters courses in Andhra University under FOREIGN QUOTA have to enclose two sets of photocopies of following documents:12 years of study at schooling level, Diploma certificate, Bachelors Degree Certificate with transcripts, Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate, Valid Passport of the student, Scholarship sanctioned letter, Demand Draft for US$50 or equivalent INR
