MSc Polymer Chemistry

Polymers Chemistry are finding increasing use not only as the major constituents of familiar plastics, resins, rubbers and man-made fibres but also in more specialised applications such as catalysts, catalysts supports, chemical reagents, combinatorial chemistry, conducting and semi-conducting devices, drug release, membranes, coatings, prosthetic devices, photo-sensitive materials, biosensors and engineering materials. Thus substantial and diverse sectors of industry have increasing requirements for science graduates who have an appreciation of polymer science and the ways in which polymers can increasingly be used to generate and develop new products and processes. The MSc course is designed to equip students with the necessary theoretical background and practical skills to enable them to contribute to these new and exciting developments.
