Masters in Art History

The Master's Degree program guarantees a range of training possibilities based on a common and solid basis of methodological awareness, in continuity with the tradition of teaching History of Art in Italy and, at the same time, projected in the perspective of ensuring a strong innovation for new and / or renewed professional figures. Those wishing to undertake the path of research, teaching and protection of the historical and artistic heritage are proposed in-depth studies in the fields of medieval, modern and contemporary art, as well as in museology, art criticism and restoration, divided into chronological areas and characterized by paths designed to critically develop the disciplinary skills of historical knowledge and philology of the work of art through the development of specific methods, from the most traditional to the most current, from formal reading to iconology, from semiotics to comparatism, from the history of material culture to the history of reception. Appropriate internships will develop the capacity for operational breakdown of disciplinary knowledge.
