2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University of Bologna

Program Overview

A Master's degree programme in Mathematics aims to give graduates a specific high-level knowledge of mathematics that will qualify them for: a job in the working world; further scientific and professional training through top-level studies (PhD, second-level University Masters, Post-Graduate School); a career as mathematics teacher in high school (after graduates have qualified as teachers and passed the selection required by law). A Master's graduate in mathematics will be an expert in a range of cutting-edge scientific fields. Since the programme offers different curricula and several elective courses, students may enhance the programme towards pure or applied mathematics. One learning outcome will be for the student to go on to a PhD programme in mathematics or some related subject, leading to involvement in research at the university, in a research institute or in industry. Moreover, with the in-depth methodological and scientific knowledge in all mathematical areas, involving both application and theoretical aspects, this degree programme allows for good opportunities of finding a job in industry and in the service sector.
