Program Overview

The Master's Degree Program in Historical-Religious Sciences allows the acquisition of an advanced knowledge of a rigorous methodology of the history of religions - in particular based on the method of comparison - in addition to the knowledge of the main historical religions, from those of ethnographic interest to ancient religions of the Mediterranean and the East, from Christianity to contemporary religions, with particular attention to the study of the root causes of the phenomena of interaction, encounter, clash and syncretism among religions even in the contemporary age; allows the acquisition of advanced knowledge in the field of Christianity disciplines, from the History of Christian origins to ancient Christian literature (in ItalianGreek, Latin, Coptic, Syriac) and to the history of biblical exegesis, from the History of theology from the New Testament to the Contemporary Age to the History of Christianity and the Churches, from an institutional, social, cultural point of view (from gender issues the genesis of Western notions of secularization, democracy, atheism).
