Masters in Photochemistry and Molecular Materials

This 2nd cycle degree aims fundamentally to create experts in the fields of: design and synthesis of new materials with given properties; modelling and simulation of the chemical and physical properties of both functional and structural materials; chemical, physical and mechanical characterisation of natural and synthetic materials; electromagnetic radiation-matter interaction and investigation of their effects, the governing mechanisms and relative investigation techniques. Completing the curriculum prior to the dissertation, students are offered internships and preparatory work for the dissertation which may be performed in the department or two other facilities in or outside the university; during these activities, students acquire the knowledge to critically analyse the results of a research work and tackle the experimental study of a chemical topic on which the final examination will be based.
