Program Overview

The main objective of this degree programme is to give second-cycle graduates advanced scientific knowledge in the field of human wellness, with particular reference to the preventive and adaptive areas.The degree programme provides knowledge about how to maintain optimal physical efficiency throughout life, as applied to normal individuals and to populations susceptible to - or affected by - diseases correlated with sedentary or improper lifestyles, adapting physical activity to the needs of persons with disabilities or affected by diseases who may benefit from physical exercise, and including the acquisition of skills for the prevention of and recovery from infant and adolescent problems via physical activity. These objectives are achieved via lectures in seminar format and meetings with sector experts and successful professionals, involving case studies, technical-practical demonstrations in the field and individual practice using advanced tools for the analysis of physical activity and physical condition; via the compilation of individual bibliographies and the preparation of original reports on the disciplines and techniques studied; via internships within leading structures for the different types of preventive, post-rehabilitation and adaptive activities; and, lastly, via the preparation of an experiment-based dissertation on a topic related to the curriculum studied.
