Program Overview

The second-cycle degree programme in Visual Arts aims to provide students with asolid art history grounding in the various areas covered by visual arts, fromthe medieval to the contemporary period, without omitting to focus on ancient arts and aspects of architecture and town planning. Art history studies combine with artistic methodology, broadening the perspective for reading and interpreting art in all its manifestations. Likewise,the rudiments of cultural heritage legislation and know-how culled from the humanities and history of literature will round out the history of art programme right from the first year and into the second, students will strike a course within the two learning areas featured in this programme: art history and art methodology, flanked by that of humanities and the history of literature.

A first cycle degree or a bachelor degree awarded after three years of study, or a foreign educationalqualification recognised as suitable, Documents giving evidence of the level of proficiency in the required language (minimum B1 level), Language of the entrance University (French, Greek or Italian), CV, Motivation Letter, Letter of recommendations, Certificate of residence, IELTS and TOEFL scores, abroad knowledge of the humanities so that they can historically place episodes in art; aknowledge of methodology, and the basic issues of preserving and enhancing artworks and cultural artefacts; ability to use the main ICT applications for cataloguing and documenting the historical and artistic heritage; ability to write and speak Italian correctly, and knowledge of a second European language
