MSc in Immunopharmacology

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University Putra Malaysia

Program Overview

Immunopharmacology is the intersection of immunology and pharmacology. It encompasses pharmacology of the mediators and cells which drive dysfunctional immunity and inflammation, how they interact to provide a robust response, and how dysfunctions in these pathways lead to pathology. Research in this area focuses on drugs that modulate the immune system, thus drawing from a diverse field of disciplines such as immunology, pharmacology, toxicology, pathology, cell biology, molecular biology and organic/synthetic/medicinal chemistry. The increasing awareness of immune system dysfunction as a basis of most chronic diseases has given rise to this discipline to the extent that there are several journals that focus specifically on immunopharmacological research.
