Program Overview

This field of study focuses on research and development of assessment and treatment modalities in psychiatric and psychological disorders. Neuropsychiatric disorders and -behavioral issues that impact on one s life and daily functions have a significant impact on quality of life. The field is concerned with understanding human behaviour in the context of psychological health and illness. This field also covers areas such as how individuals cope with illness and chronic psychiatric diseases, psychological influences on the development of disease states, understanding and improving adjustment outside the mental healthcare settings, psychiatry of old age, disorders in children and adolescents, adherence to treatment, determinants of health-related behaviours.
