Orthopaedic surgery or orthopaedics is the branch of surgery concerned with acute, chronic, traumatic, and overuse injuries and other disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons address most musculoskeletal ailments including arthritis, trauma and congenital deformities using both surgical and non-surgical means.Orthopaedic surgeons are highly regarded as the repair of muscular and skeletal injuries often result in the betterment of the patient s life. From hip replacement surgery in senior citizens to the treatment of scoliosis in children, orthopaedics plays an important part in human beings doing basic actions, without pain. Specialisations are also common as many of the body s most intricate musculoskeletal systems require specialist care e.g: the hands or spine.
