Program Overview

The aim of this degree programme is to enable the candidates to practice independently in Paediatric surgery in a Malaysian hospital after a period of supervised training in Paediatric surgery and its subspecialties. It enables the candidates, with adequate Knowledge, Technical expertise, Social skills and responsibility (Health Advocacy), Values (Ethical issues), Attitudes and Professionalism needed to practice Paediatric Surgery. They learn problem solving skills and scientific skills and will be able to develop clinical decision making skills and mange their patients with utmost care and commitment.

Additional Information & Requirements

Should require degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery of the University or an equivalent medical qualification approved by the Senate; and At least two years of post-full registration clinical experience in General Surgery and its subspecialties, (at least 12 to 18 months in general surgery is preferable), approved by the Senate, Qualifies for registration as a medical practitioner under the Medical Act 1971 (Act 50) of Malaysia; and Satisfies the Department responsible for the candidate s programme of study in an Entrance Evaluation recognised by the Faculty, Certified copy of your orginal diploma, Certified copy of your complete list of grade, Financial Statement, Certified copy of passport, English Language requirement To obtain a score of 600 for a paper-based total (PBT); a score of 250 for a computer-based total (CBT) or a score of 100 for an internet-based total (IBT) for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or To obtain a band of 6 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
