Program Overview

While the exact topic of research will be decided on in consultation with the supervisor, students are strongly encouraged to focus on the general area Language and Mathematics ; this includes, but is not limited to, topics such as: the use of code-switching in mathematics lessons, the mathematics register , teacher focus on mathematical language, pupils use of mathematical language, activities that promote mathematical talk, pupils journal writing, deaf children s experiences of mathematics, non-Maltese pupils experiences of learning mathematics through English/Maltese, and other language-related topics.

The Bachelor degree in the same or in a closely related area of study as that applied for, with an average mark of not less than 55% in that area, TOEFL ibT of 95, IELTS of 6.5, Cambridge Advanced Certificate, SELT pass
