Program Overview

The epigenome consists of small and reversible chemical modifications of the DNA or histone proteins, such as methylation, acetylation and phosphorylation. It changes the spatial structure of DNA, resulting in gene activation or repression. These processes are crucial for our health and also play a role in many diseases, like autoimmune diseases, cancer and neurological disorders. As opposed to modifications of the genome sequence itself, epigenetic modifications are reversible.

Should have completed Bachelor's degree, international degree has to be equivalent to a Dutch university diploma, Human Biology requires a Bachelor s degree in Medical Biology,Biomedical Sciences, Biology, with a minor in Medical Biology, Neurobiology or Medicine, A proficiency in English, you need to have fluency in both written and spoken English. Non-native speakers of English** without a Dutch Bachelor's degree or VWO diploma need one of the following:A TOEFL score of 575 (paper based) or 90 (internet based), An IELTS score of 6.5.
