Program Overview

This research-based programme is recognised by the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS). Becoming an audiologist involves the completion of the two-year masters programme, followed by one further year of supervised clinical practice, leading to a Certificate of Clinical Competence provided by the NZAS. This is normally undertaken while employed in an audiology clinic. Facilities such as the University's Hearing and Tinnitus Clinic and The Oticon Foundation Hearing Education Centre provide excellent opportunities for clinical training and continuing education for practising audiologists.

Personal Statement, High School Transcript, You must have completed a bachelors degree in Arts or Science from a recognised university (or similar institution), Atleast 7.5 IELTS Academic, Advanced Level Courses in Physiology or Psychology. Approximately 40% of your advanced-level courses in physiology with a GPE of 5.0 or higher, and at least one advanced-level course in psychology ; or Approximately 40% of your advanced-level courses in psychology with a GPE of 5.0 or higher, and at least one advanced-level course in physiology, In addition, you must have passed at least one advanced-level course with a GPE of 5.0 or higher in each of:Chemistry, Biology or zoology, Physics or acoustics.
