Program Overview

Cytogenetics and Reproductive Biology are scientific disciplines within the field of Cell Biology that have a considerable impact on society. Both disciplines have led to new procedures in genetic diagnosis in individuals, embryos and gametes, which have developed in parallel with assisted reproduction techniques, genetic diagnosis of populations and prenatal and preimplantation diagnosis. The academic programme offered here links up research and teaching, and promotes the transfer of technology to society. It is addressed to students with analytic skills, a proactive attitude and determination, who are interested in both research and professional practice in the fields of assisted reproduction in humans and animals, clinical embryology, genetics of reproduction, genetics of cancer, clinical cytogenetics, evolutionary cytogenetics, or radiobiology.
