The study of musicology serves the analysis, understanding and interpretation of music of different periods of time, language and culture. It deals with the prerequisites and manifestations of music, its interaction with other arts and their role in society. The subject of the subject includes everything that falls under the term music, these are in particular written sources of text and music, pictures, musical instruments and sound recordings. The master's program offers modules on older and newer music history as well as an in-depth module on music history, aesthetics and popular music forms, thus enabling a sound historical and musicological examination, which includes the mediation of music as a central aspect.
