Master in Earth Sciences

18 Months On Campus Masters Program

University of Basel

Program Overview

Geosciences deal with the structure, function and evolution of the Earth system in the past, present and future. The topics range from tectonic processes in the Earth's interior to the dynamics on the Earth's surface, which are influenced by natural changes but also by anthropogenic environmental, land use and climate change. The geosciences combine geology, mineralogy, geography (physical and human aspects), meteorology and climatology, biogeochemistry, hydrology and soil science. The geosciences in Basel offer a particularly close link between the traditional geographical and the geological / geological subjects. This enables students to develop a holistic understanding of geosciences in teaching and research in a special way.
