The objective of this concentration area is to introduce students to the physiochemical and biological processes related to the pollution of air, water and land and air, including the fate and transport of pollutants in the environment; their adverse impacts on nature and human health; and methods for environmental remediation. Field/laboratory investigations and numerical modeling of environmental systems are encompassed in this concentration area.
