The Master of Science in Urban Design at Ajman University is a 30‑credit postgraduate degree that prepares you to address real-world urban and architectural challenges through design, research, and sustainability principles. Year 1

In the first year, you will build core knowledge and practical skills that form the foundation of advanced urban design. You will explore History and Theory of Urbanism to understand how cities evolve over time, and study Sustainability and Energy Saving to learn how to embed environmentally conscious practices into design solutions. You will also take Social and Economic Factors in Urban Development, which examines how communities, economics, and spatial form interact to shape urban environments.

Year 2

In the second year, the focus shifts toward application, research, and professional competence. You will work in the Urban Design Studio, where design projects simulate real-life contexts, and Research Methods equips you with the tools needed for academic inquiry and thesis preparation. You will also complete a substantial research project through Thesis I and Thesis II, allowing you to specialize in a topic that reflects your interests and career goals. Electives such as Urban Landscape Design, Management of Urban Projects, or Real Estate Development allow you to tailor your studies further.
