Alongside core study, you also engage in Research Methods and Professional Development to prepare you for independent research, and begin exploring elective areas such as Distributed Systems, Security & Cryptography, Database Systems, and AI-related computing modules — giving you both breadth and depth across computing disciplines.
Year 2 — Specialisation & Thesis Research:
In the second year you deepen your expertise through specialised electives aligned with your career or research interests (for example Machine Intelligence, Networking and Security, Cloud-Native Systems or Human-Computer Interaction), and focus on your Master’s Thesis — an extensive research project where you define, investigate, and solve a substantial computer science problem under faculty supervision. This thesis work develops your ability to conduct high-impact, independent research and communicate results at a professional or academic level.
