You also begin Introduction to Research Methods to prepare for independent research and complete an Internship to apply analytical techniques in a real professional context.

Year 2 — Advanced Topics & Independent Research:
The second year focuses on elective modules (e.g., Machine Learning with Python, Introduction to Deep Learning, Bayesian Statistics for Data Science, Numerical Methods for Optimization and Natural Language Processing) so you can tailor your expertise; you also embark on your Master’s Research Thesis, undertaking a one-year research project that demonstrates your ability to design and conduct original statistical and data science research.
