Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

Experiential Learning:
The MA Landscape Architecture at the University of Sheffield gives you hands-on experience designing real-world landscapes while using the latest digital tools and methods. Based in the School of Architecture & Landscape, you’ll work in studios designed for model-making, digital design, and site analysis, and collaborate closely with peers on group projects and studio reviews. Field trips and site visits across Sheffield and beyond allow you to apply your learning directly in the landscape, making your designs tangible and practice-ready.

  • You’ll gain proficiency in key software and digital tools through professional skills modules, ensuring you’re trained in industry-standard techniques aligned with professional accreditation.
  • Field-based work is integral: practical workshops and site visits let you apply design thinking directly to real landscapes.
  • In your final year, the Final Landscape Project allows you to select a real-world site, apply your full range of digital and physical design skills, and present your work in a professional-style review.
