Program Overview

The Architectural History MA at UCL is a one-year program that explores how architecture and urban spaces reflect social, cultural, and political change. It’s perfect for anyone passionate about the stories behind buildings, cities, and design, whether you come from architecture, history, or related fields.

Curriculum Structure

The program combines core modules, optional courses, and a final dissertation. Then you choose optional modules like Architecture in Britain since the 17th Century or The Representation of Cities to follow your specific interests. The year concludes with a 10,000-word dissertation and oral examination, giving you the chance to produce a substantial, original piece of research.
