18 Months On Campus Masters Program
If you’re looking to take your management skills global, the MSc Management with International Business (Professional Practice) is designed for you. This course blends hands-on experience with practical business knowledge, helping you understand how organisations operate internationally and giving you the confidence to lead in any business environment.
Curriculum structure
First phase — taught modules
You’ll start with core modules like Fundamentals of Management, where you get a solid grounding in strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and HR — everything you need to understand how businesses work. The Context of International Business then shows you how politics, economics, and culture shape global markets, while Fundamentals of Leadership helps you discover your own leadership style and learn how to manage teams effectively. The Global Professional module ties it all together, sharpening your intercultural skills and preparing you for work in a truly international setting.
Specialisation and option modules
Once you’ve covered the core, you can dive into areas that match your interests. Whether it’s Managing Sustainable Challenges to explore corporate responsibility, Managing Employee Relations to understand people management, or Management Accounting for financial decision-making, these modules let you shape your learning around your career goals.
Final project or professional practice + placement
For your final stage, you choose a project that suits you — a Research Project, Consultancy Project, or even New Venture Creation if you’re entrepreneurial. And because this is the “Professional Practice” route, you also get a 6-month placement, giving you real-world experience in a UK business before you graduate. It’s a fantastic way to turn theory into practice and make your CV stand out.
Focus areas
International business strategy, leadership, people management, global business environments, corporate sustainability, finance, intercultural skills, consultancy and entrepreneurship.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to make strategic decisions, lead teams across cultures, tackle global business challenges, manage operations or people effectively, and apply ethical and sustainable practices — all while having real-world experience through your placement.
Professional alignment (accreditation)
The University of Huddersfield’s Business School is AACSB accredited, which is a mark of global excellence, and you can also earn a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) qualification — both are highly valued by employers.
Reputation (employability & rankings)
The Business School was named Business School of the Year 2023 by Times Higher Education, highlighting its strong links with industry. Graduates move into roles like Business Analyst, Project Manager, Management Consultant, HR Officer, Sales Executive and more, with around 91% of students employed or in further study within 15 months of graduating.
