University of Kent

Program Overview

This MSc equips you with the strategic, analytical, and practical skills to manage complex global supply chains, from procurement and production to distribution and customer service. It suits ambitious graduates who want to combine advanced study with real-world industry experience, preparing them to lead sustainable, innovative supply chain operations worldwide.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1 – Core Learning

In your first year, you’ll build a strong foundation in global supply chain strategies and operations. Modules such as Global Supply Chain Management & Sustainability, Digital Transformation and Operations Management, and Strategic and Sustainable Procurement introduce you to the challenges of managing international logistics while embedding sustainability and digital innovation. You’ll also gain hands-on skills through Simulation Modelling and Supply Chain Analytics, learning how to use data-driven insights to optimize networks, routing, and inventory management.

Year 2 – Industrial Placement & Capstone

Your second year focuses on applying knowledge in practice. Through the Industrial Placement Experience (typically 39–44 weeks), you’ll work in a UK or international organization, developing professional expertise and building your CV. Alongside this, you’ll complete the Industrial Placement Report and an Exit Interview, reflecting on your experience and linking it to academic learning. Alternatively, you may choose the Logistics and Supply Chain Challenge module, where you act as a consultant, pitching solutions to real organizational problems and producing a consultancy report.
