The MSc AI for Business Intelligence at the University of Leicester is a 12–16 month full-time program, with an option to extend to 24–28 months with an industrial placement.

Delivered by the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, the program integrates artificial intelligence, data science, and software engineering to develop AI solutions for real-world business problems.

It is specifically designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry demands.

  • Teaching: Lectures, workshops, practical projects, guest sessions, and seminars.

  • Assessment: Written exams, coursework, oral presentations, project reports, and real-world application-based assessments.

    • Fundamentals of Data Science

    • Statistics for Data Science

    • Computational Intelligence and Software Engineering

    • Data Mining and Neural Networks

    • Final Project: Applied AI and data analytics on real business challenges, often using real-world datasets

  • Optional Modules:

    • Topics tailored to business trends in AI, data science, and analytics

  • Industrial Placement (Optional):

    • 9-11 month paid placement tackling real-world business challenges with placement support provided by the university

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • Real-World Projects: The curriculum and the final project are designed in collaboration with industry partners such as Santander, Deloitte, Alstom, and City Group.

  • Industrial Placement (Optional): Hands-on experience in professional environments with real companies to develop business and technical skills.

  • Placement Support: Dedicated Placement Tutor and university Careers Service support throughout the process.
