Founded in 1921 as a memorial to the Great War, the University of Leicester is a public research university in Leicester, England. Genetic fingerprinting was invented at the University of Leicester.
The university comprises of three colleges: College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities; College of Life Sciences; and College of Science and Engineering. Many courses offer modules from other related departments to add depth to studies.
The university has partnered with Study Group to provide International Foundation Year Program and International Year One program. The International Foundation Year develops the English language and the academic skills needed to succeed in an undergraduate degree at the University of Leicester. Once the student complete the program and achieve the required grades, then the student can enter the first year of their chosen undergraduate degree at University of Leicester. The International Year One is designed to help international students to prepare for second-year entry to an undergraduate degree at the University of Leicester.
