Program Overview

The MSc in Biomedical Engineering at QMUL provides a research-led, specialist education designed to advance skills in experimental, computational, and analytical techniques across key biomedical domains. The programme offers four distinct pathways—Clinical Engineering, Biomechanics, Biomaterials, and Artificial Intelligence/Digital Healthcare—enabling students to tailor their learning to personal and professional goals. Students will complete a major research project using state-of-the-art facilities, with career preparation for roles in clinical, design, or R&D settings.

  • Biomechanics: Extended Research Project, Medical Ethics and Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Bioengineering: Applications in Urology, Computational Engineering, Computational Fluid Dynamics, along with optional modules

  • AI & Digital Healthcare: Extended Research Project, Medical Ethics and Regulatory Affairs, Engineering Design Optimisation & Decision Making, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Engineering, Deep Learning for Data and Image Analysis, along with optional modules

  • Biomaterials: Extended Research Project, Medical Ethics and Regulatory Affairs, Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine, Macromolecular Engineering, Clinical Sensors & Measurement, Digital Manufacture for Healthcare Innovations, along with optional modules
