The MSc(Eng) Biomedical Engineering (Healthcare) at the University of Liverpool is a one-year, full-time programme tailored for graduates from engineering, physical sciences, life sciences, or medicine. The degree bridges the disciplines of medicine and engineering, focusing on solving real-world healthcare challenges through the application of engineering principles. It is also ideal for intercalating medical students.   • Assessed through a combination of written exams, class tests and coursework. Coursework based assignments include essays, reports, oral presentations, mini project work, key skill exercises and a dissertation​

  • Core Modules: Structural Biomaterials, Computer Aided Design, Group Engineering Design, Technical Writing for Engineers, Cardiovascular Physiology and Mechanics, Musculoskeletal Biomechanics, Tissue Engineering

  • Optional Modules: Materials Processing and Selection, Additive Manufacturing, Introduction to Ethics in Healthcare, Introduction to Research Ethics in Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing with Lasers, Energy and the Environment, Enterprise Studies, Smart Materials

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • Hands-on laboratory sessions such as Active Learning Laboratories, and tutorials

  • Research-led teaching with exposure to real-world clinical and engineering challenges
