This course is ideal if you have a background in mathematics, physics or a closely related subject, and want to apply this knowledge to pressing real-world problems such as climate change and extreme weather. Optional modules cover topics such as the theoretical understanding of the general circulation of ocean and atmosphere and mid-latitude and tropical weather systems. THis course helps to develop the skills needed to understand the fundamentals of the fluid dynamics of the atmosphere and oceans, and develop numerical models of them.
A good undergraduate honours degree (2:2 or above), or equivalent from a university outside the UK, in relevant subject. IELTS 6.5 overall with no element less than 5.5 (or equivalent).
