Program Overview

The University of Nottingham’s MBA is designed to take you from a capable professional to a confident business leader. You’ll gain hands-on experience tackling real-world challenges while learning how to think strategically, lead teams, and make decisions that matter in a global business environment.

Curriculum Structure

Stage 1 – Building Core Business Skills
In the first stage, you’ll cover the essentials that every modern manager needs. You’ll explore Accounting & Finance to understand how businesses measure success, Business Economics to see how markets and policies shape strategy, and Leading People & Organisations, where you’ll learn the art of motivating teams and driving change. Modules like Marketing, Operations Management, Strategic Management, and Sustainable Decisions & Organisations will give you the tools to solve complex business problems ethically and effectively, while Entrepreneurship & Creativity encourages you to generate and pitch your own innovative ideas.

Stage 2 – Specializing and Exploring Global Business
Once the foundation is set, you can dive deeper into areas that excite you. Options include Corporate Finance, Business Ethics, Venture Capital & Private Equity, and Financial Technologies. You’ll also explore Business Intelligence in the Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in Practice, applying theory to real-life scenarios. A highlight is the International Study Tour, where you visit global companies, meet leaders, and experience business first-hand in a different country.

Stage 3 – Putting Knowledge into Action
The final stage is all about applying what you’ve learned. Through the Management Project, you’ll work on a real business problem, create a strategy, or even design a business plan. This is your chance to show employers that you can make an impact from day one.
