University of Nottingham is a public research university in Nottingham, United Kingdom. It was initially founded as University College Nottingham in 1881 and was granted a Royal Charter in 1948. The University of Nottingham operates from four campuses in Nottinghamshire and two overseas campuses, one in China and the other in Malaysia.

University of Nottingham is made up of a number of schools and departments organized into five faculties: Arts, Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, Science, and Social Science. The University has are more than 50 schools, departments, institutes and research centres. Each faculty encompasses a number of schools and departments.

University of Nottingham has more than 33,000 students which include more than 24,000 undergraduate students and 9,000 graduates. The university has 11,400 international students. The university comprises more than 8,000 international students. The university has more than 7,000 faculty members. 

University of Nottingham is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Virgo Consortium, the European University Association, the Russell Group, Universities UK, Universitas 21, and participates in the Sutton Trust Summer School programme, as a member of the Sutton 30. The university provides a range of internal and external scholarships to international students on the basis of academic excellence. Over 93% of their full-time first degree graduates are employed within six months of graduation.

1. Nottingham Developing Solutions Scholarships

The Developing Solutions Scholarships are designed for international students who wish to pursue a Master’s Degree within the University of Nottingham and create a difference in the development of their home country.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

You can apply for this scholarship if you:

• Are a national of (or permanently domiciled in) Africa, India or one amongst the countries of the Commonwealth

• Are classed as a distant student for fee purposes

• Haven't already studied outside of your home country

• Aren't presently studying at a University of Nottingham campus or aren't a University of Nottingham graduate

• Hold an offer to begin a full-time Master’s degree program, as well as Master of Research, at Nottingham for September in a part of study among the: College of Engineering, college of medication and Health Sciences, College of Science, and also the college of social science.

2. Vice Chancellors International Scholarship for Research Excellence at University of Nottingham

The University of Nottingham offers scholarships for outstanding international students who wish to pursue a Ph.D. or MPhil research program at the University.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

You can apply for this scholarship if one:

• Is classed as an overseas student for fee purposes AND

• Already holds an offer to start a full-time research degree program, Ph.D. or MPhil, at our Nottingham campus with a start date that comes between 01 October and 01 February (inclusive), in any subject area excluding Engineering.
