This program will delve into the constituents of human blood, diseases that affect them, methods for detecting and tracking illnesses, and the interpretation of blood test outcomes. The curriculum will cover topics such as blood cell creation, blood count, haemoglobinopathies, various types of anaemia, clotting abnormalities, cancers related to blood and bone marrow, myelodysplasia, and MPD. Additionally, you'll learn about blood transfusions and blood donation, encompassing concepts such as blood types, techniques for blood and tissue typing, haemolytic disease in infants, reactions to transfusions, and the safe handling and storage of blood products. Lastly, the program will examine ethical and legal considerations that surround specific research types, including genetics, assisted reproduction, and both human and animal research.
They welcome applications from graduates with a 2:2 honours degree, or equivalent qualification, in an appropriate subject They also consider applicants from other healthcare professions (registered nurse, clinical exercise physiologist, physiotherapist and medical practitioners). You must have competence in English language to study with us. The most commonly accepted evidence of English language ability is IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all components).
