Clinical Neuroscience MSc

1 Years On Campus Masters Program

Middlesex University London

Program Overview

In this postgraduate biomedical and biological science course, you will develop a thorough understanding of brain and nervous system disorders, as well as the diagnostic equipment and techniques and possible treatments used to address them. The course consists of two core modules that are common to all postgraduate courses in this field: biomedical ethics and law, and experimental design and statistics. Along with these, you will study six specialized physiology modules, covering topics such as neurobiology, neuropathology, and acquisition and analysis of neural data.

The core modules will provide you with essential knowledge and skills, including designing and conducting experiments, statistical analysis, literature searching, referencing, and citation, as well as ethical and legal considerations related to research involving humans and animals, assisted reproduction, and genetics.

The specialist modules will delve deeper into the physiological signal sampling and analysis, neurophysiology in children, peripheral neurophysiology, and various NCV recording techniques, as well as neurophysiological diagnostic methods.

Finally, you will undertake a dissertation project where you will plan and carry out your independent research project and critically evaluate your results. You may choose to conduct an observational or experimental study, and if applicable, you can base your project on your relevant workplace. As part of your project, you will research relevant literature and present your findings in a written report and verbal presentation.
