Program Overview

This program is structured to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to examine and analyze current issues relating to crime, disorder, and community safety, as well as to evaluate current policies and practices aimed at addressing them. The foundational modules emphasize the application of criminological theory and research to policy and practice, youth crime, gang violence, hate crime, interpersonal violence, community safety, and public protection. The remainder of the curriculum is composed of optional modules that scrutinize specific aspects of crime and criminal justice in greater depth or through participation in a work-based learning or internship project.
