The objective of this course is to provide you with the necessary knowledge and abilities to investigate and analyze issues related to crime, conflict, control, and transnational crime and justice. The course includes four mandatory modules that will provide a comprehensive understanding of current criminological theory, methods, and topics, as well as debates in global criminology, policing, human rights and justice, and terrorism. You can also choose from a variety of optional modules that allow you to focus on areas of particular interest, such as criminal justice institutions, community safety, drug-related issues, environmental crime and green criminology, and youth offending.
Throughout the course, master's students will be required to complete six 20-credit modules, and either a 15,000-word dissertation or a Work-Based Learning (Placement) project, which will be supervised by a member of the faculty, on a subject of your choice.
We accept the equivalent of the below qualifications from a recognised overseas qualification. We welcome applications from graduates with a 2:2 honours degree or above in an appropriate subject, or an equivalent qualification You must have competence in English language to study with us. The most commonly accepted evidence of English language ability is IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all components).
