Criminology at Essex builds on strong sociological foundations and reflects the diversity of staff interests, including leading contributors to studies of women, young people and criminal justice, prostitution, homicide, victimisation, visual criminology and media, organised crime and law enforcement, terrorism and surveillance, environmental crime and more. The courses provide critical, conceptual and theoretical analyses of crimes and harms, from the local to the global.

Should have 2:2 or equivalent in a social science subject or a 2:2 or equivalent or a non-social sciences degree will be considered dependent on any relevant professional or voluntary experience, Personal statement no more than 500 words is required, Official transcript(s), in English or a certified translation of your academic results to date, showing marks or grades, must be provided at the time you make your application, copy of your CV, Certified copy of your orginal diploma, Certified copy of your complete list of grade, IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum component score of 6.0, TOEFL (iBT) with 76 overall, with a minimum of 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing, PTE 51 overall, with a minimum of 51 in each component, A score of 169 overall on the Cambridge English Scale, with a minimum of 162 in each component.
