Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge Campus

Program Overview

The MSc Psychology (Conversion) at Anglia Ruskin University gives students from non-psychology backgrounds a fast-track, BPS-accredited route to understanding human behaviour across biological, cognitive, social, and developmental domains. It suits graduates who want the foundational knowledge and research skills to pursue careers or further training in psychology.

Curriculum Structure

Students begin with modules such as Brain, Body and Mind, covering neuroscience, cognition and biological psychology, and Social Psychology, Development and Difference, focusing on social behaviour, development across the lifespan, and individual variation.

Simultaneously, they take Research in Action: Statistical Thinking and Research in Action: Qualitative Methods & Psychology in Practice, where they learn to design studies, collect and analyse data (quantitative and qualitative), and understand professional research ethics.

Towards the end, students complete the Psychology Dissertation, an independent empirical research project that synthesises what they have learned and demonstrates their competence in psychological research.
