1 Year On Campus Masters Program
The MSc in Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health at Nottingham Trent University offers a full-time one-year programme (or two-year part-time) designed for psychology graduates and allied professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of mental health, wellbeing and applied psychological intervention. Students will study modules in assessment, research methods, wellbeing theory, contemporary issues and undertake an independent research project.
Curriculum structure:
Year 1 (Full-time): Students begin by studying Clinical Research Methods (10 credits), where they learn foundational methodological skills for mental-health research, and move into core 20-credit modules such as Assessment, Case Formulation and Intervention, Psychological Wellbeing, Contemporary Issues in Mental Health, Theory and Application to Mental Health and Research & Professional Skills. These modules provide students with theoretical, practical and research knowledge of mental-health conditions, wellbeing frameworks and professional practice.
In the latter part of the year, students continue the core modules and also complete a 10-credit Specialist Essay module, culminating in a Research Project / Dissertation where they design and conduct an empirical or structured review study in the field of wellbeing and mental health under supervision.
