2 Year On Campus Masters Program
The MSc in Early Child Development & Clinical Applications at UCL combines developmental theory, psychoanalytic perspectives, and early-years clinical training. It suits students aiming for child-focused clinical practice or research in early development.
Curriculum Structure
Year One:
Students study Early Child Development I–III, Multiple Perspectives on Development & Psychopathology, and Prevention in Mental Health, gaining a strong theoretical base. They also begin Parent-Infant Observation 1, developing skills in reflective and observational practice.
Year Two:
Students continue with Parent-Infant Observation 2 and complete a supervised Clinical Placement. They take Clinical Competencies & Masterclasses and theories of caregiver–child relationships, while completing Research Project 1 & 2.
